Mr. Betz is without a doubt part of Washington wine’s history, and his journey has allowed him to work side by side with other greats of American wine history. André Tchelistcheff described by Mr. Betz as “The single most seminal figure in American wine production” was a consultant for Chateau Ste. Michelle, where Mr. Betz worked for 28 years. Now Mr. Betz is a consultant himself for Col Solare, a partnership between Ste. Michelle and famed Italian producer Antinori where he continues to showcase the potential of Washington wines.
